Charli Z
Preforming Saturday, August 1
Charli Z. is a seventeen-year-old singer-songwriter, guitarist, and violinist based in Sioux Falls. She has been performing with her family’s touring Celtic band, Maggie in the Meantime, since age twelve, and has begun writing her own songs for solo shows. She has performed at the Lead Opera House, the Old Courthouse Museum, the Dakota Theater, the Montrose Music Festival, the Sioux River Folk Fest, and many other venues in South Dakota. Her original songs, if they fit any genre, can best be described as folk-rock fusion, and her setlist sometimes includes covers of the 60s-through-90s songs that inspire her most. Aside from music, Charli also writes and publishes poetry, having won several competitions including the Louine Schaufler Youth Poetry Contest and Augustana University’s Emerging Young Poet Award.
