Michael Daves and Jacob Jolliff, two of America’s premier bluegrass talents, are celebrating therelease of their new duo albumWe Like Jim & Jesse!, out in March on Wild Geranium Records.The recording pays homage to first-generation bluegrass innovators Jim & Jesse and theVirginia Boys, combining a studied interpretation of those classic recordings with theimprovisational fire and rafter-lifting harmonies that Daves & Jolliff have become known forthrough years of collaboration. Daves, a “leading light of the New York bluegrass scene” (NewYork Times) is Grammy-nominated for his work with Chris Thile and has performed with manybluegrass luminaries including Tony Trischka, Andy Statman, Bruce Molsky, Peter Rowan, andBryan Sutton. His gritty and distinctive guitar and vocal style harkens back to the high lonesomeorigins of bluegrass while pairing effortlessly with modern influences.
