Sergeant Creek Stringband

Sergeant Creek Stringband is a familiar and beloved name to Folk Fest regulars and for good reason. Headed up by Bill Peterson, our co-founder and a master fiddler with over 40 years of experience playing Scandinavian, Celtic, and old-time fiddle tunes, with a special love for the Missouri Valley style of fiddling. This year he's bringing his fiddle-loving friends Josh Scott and Jason Blankenheim to join the fun, along with Al Slaathaug on bass fiddle and John Everist on guitar. Two seasoned veterans with a combined 60 years in the South Dakota music scene. This group brings traditional fiddle music at its finest.
